TrackSync setup and workflow

Install TrackSync, open it inside DaVinci Resolve Studio, sync audio with video from the active timeline, and create a new synced timeline without XML exports.

Requirements

  • Apple Silicon Mac: M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer.
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio 20.3 or newer.
  • A Resolve timeline with recorder audio and camera scratch audio available as Media Pool clips.

Installation

  1. Download the TrackSync macOS Apple Silicon installer after purchase.
  2. Open Install TrackSync.pkg and complete the installer. The macOS build is signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate.
  3. Restart DaVinci Resolve Studio completely.
  4. Open Workspace > Workflow Integrations > TrackSync.

If macOS still asks for confirmation, right-click the installer, choose Open, and confirm that you want to open it.

Typical timeline layout

Track Use Example
A1-A3 Recorder reference tracks Recorder mix, boom ISO, lav mix
V4 + A4 Camera target 1 Camera A picture and scratch audio
V5 + A5 Camera target 2 Camera B picture and scratch audio
  1. Open the timeline you want to sync.
  2. Click Reload Timeline if TrackSync was already open.
  3. Select all recorder tracks as the reference.
  4. Confirm each camera target pair.
  5. Click Analyze to review matches, or Sync Timeline to run the full workflow.

TrackSync creates a new timeline with a synced suffix. The original timeline is left unchanged.

Troubleshooting

TrackSync cannot see my timeline.

Make sure a Resolve timeline is open, then restart Resolve and open TrackSync from Workflow Integrations again.

A clip is marked low confidence.

TrackSync leaves weak matches visible instead of moving them blindly. Check whether the camera scratch audio is noisy, very short, or from a different take.

The plugin does not upload audio.

Waveform analysis runs locally on your Mac. Media and waveform cache are not sent to TrackSync servers.
